WAXING

DOES WAXING HURT?

Waxing is not the most pleasant experience, but its not the worst thing either! Here are some helpful tips you can follow to help lessen the pain.
  • Take an over the counter pain reliever such as Advil, or Ibuprofen 30 minutes before your wax.
  • Honey B's offers a numbing spray with 4% lidocaine that you can apply before your service.
  • Relax! The anticipation is the worst part. Take a deep breath, the wax is always worth it!

HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR MY WAX?

To ensure the highest quality wax please exfoliate 24 hours before your appointment. This process removes the dead layers of skin so the hair follicles can break through easier.

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR NEED TO BE?

Hair length should be about 1/4 inch (a grain of rice) to be waxed. This ensures the hair is long enough for the wax to grip on. Thicker hair should be about 1/2 inch long.

CAN I GET WAXED WHILE TAKING ACNE MEDICATION?

If you are taking an acne medication such as Acutance or Retin-A it is not recommended to get facial waxing. These products can increase skin sensitivity while also posing the risk of skin lifting.

HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO GET WAXED?

For all bikini and brazilian waxes you must be 18 or older. Clients who are 16 and older may receive a bikini or brazilian wax with a legal parent or guardian present.

UGH! ITS THAT TIME OF THE MONTH, CAN I STILL GET WAXED?

Yes! Although you will be more sensitive, you may get waxed while on your period. However please use a tampon during your service.

CAN I GET WAXED WHILE PREGNANT?

Absolutely! Expectant mothers are more than welcome to come get waxed, though you will be more sensitive.

CAN I WORKOUT AFTER MY WAX?

It is not recommended to workout 24 hours after your wax. Friction and sweat can irritate the skin, making you more prone to bacteria getting into your pores.

LASH EXTENSIONS

WHAT ARE THE LASHES MADE OF?

Honey B's only uses the finest lash products. The lashes are faux mink. They are made up of unique synthetic yarn fibers which make them super soft and light. The lashes are a deep matte black and never lose their curl.

WHAT IS IN THE ADHESIVE GLUE USED?

Honey B's uses the Ultimate adhesive from Broboleta Beauty.  There is NO Formaldehyde or Latex in this adhesive.

Other ingredients include:

  • Cyanoacrylate- Responsible for the the extension adhering to the natural lash.
  • Poly Alkyl Methacrylate (PMMA)- Provides the elasticity or flexibility within adhesives.
  • Black Carbon- Gives the deepest black color to the lashes.
  • Hydroquinone- A weak acid buffer to prevent adhesive polymerization from occurring immediately. Commonly found in face creams, moisturizers, and hair conditioners.

WILL MY NATURAL LASHES FALL OUT?

The simple answer to this is NO! As long as you take care of your lashes, by washing and brushing daily, you will not lose natural lashes.

You naturally lose 5-10 lashes EVERY DAY. It may seem that you are losing more lashes, this is because your natural lash now has a darker thicker lash attached to it, so it is more noticeable when they fall out

CAN I GET MY LASHES WET?

Yes, you can get your lashes wet with WATER. Or with water and your Broboleta lash cleanser.

CAN I WASH MY FACE?

Yes, you may still wash your face with your regular face washing products, just avoid any of these products getting into the eyelash extensions.

HOW/WHY SHOULD I WASH MY LASHES?

Throughout the day, wether with dirt or makeup, debris is collected on your lashes. It is EXTREMELY important to wash you lashes daily so this buildup is cleaned away. Not doing so could cause an eye infection or cause your lash extensions to fall out more frequently with the natural lash attached. Always use a lash cleanser to wash your lashes, never soap and never any kind of oils.

ARE THERE ANY PRODUCTS I SHOULD AVOID AROUND MY LASHES?

NEVER use oils, or oil based products when cleaning your lash extensions. Doing so will loosen the adhesive bond between the natural lash and lash extension, causing the extensions to fall out/off more frequently.

CAN I STILL WEAR MASCARA?

ABSOLUTELY NOT.  I cannot stress this enough. If you use mascara while you have lash extensions on, the follow problems can occur:

  • No matter how hard you try you will not get all the mascara off of your lash extensions. This will make it extremely hard for the next extensions to adhere to your natural lash. Resulting in your appointment taking longer and possibly leaving with holes in your lashes where it could not be filled.
  • Mascara will create a buildup between the natural lash and the extension, making the lash heavy and causing the extension to fall out unnaturally, taking the natural lash with it. Also the buildup could cause an eye infection.
